Are you drained from the constant demands of work, hubby, kids and everything else in your life? Every once in a while all of us need to take time out for a little more “me” time.
Taking care of yourself is important. If you are overworked, over-scheduled and over-stressed, look for ways to find a few stolen moments of tranquility each and every day.
Wake up 10 minutes early
Sure, you need all the sleep you can get, but even setting your alarm 10-15 minutes early will allow you to find a little solitude. Use the moments to listen to music, read the newspaper or just meditate.
Schedule your “Me” time
It might sound silly, but you should put yourself on your appointment calendar. Schedule your “me” time and treat it like any other appointment — do your best not to miss it. Block off 15 minutes of time for yourself each and every day. Then once a week, set aside an hour on your calendar and use it to enjoy a bubble bath, get a pedicure or lay in bed and read.
Start a journal
One of the best ways to give yourself a little break is to start a journal. Instead of a blog or online journal, buy a good old fashioned notebook. Journal the day’s events right before you go to sleep at night. Your journal can be a place to relieve stress by venting, set and track personal goals, note your children’s accomplishments or just write about the day’s activities.
How do you find mommy “me” time?
