This year, I’ve been fortunate to have enough steady work to continue as a freelancer from my home office. It gives me the chance to set my own schedule and spend more time with my kids while they’re little. I’m thankful for my clients and for the care my kids get from my parents and school.
This year, I’ve learned that my son is on the autism spectrum. I’m thankful for his doctors and therapists and for the journey he has taken me on. I’m thankful for his insights and humor. I’m thankful that he keeps me on my toes, teaches me to be patient.
This year, my husband has embraced a new fitness routine. I’m thankful for a hobby he loves and for his health and for how much happier he is now that he’s more confident. I’m thankful for the ways he makes me laugh every day.
This year, my baby turned two. I’m thankful for the way he kept nursing until I was finished. I’m thankful for his crazy way of talking and his fluffy curls and the fact that he’s always willing to curl up with Goodnight Moon.
I’m thankful for my friends, both online and around town, near and far away. I’m thankful for the voices of other mothers who remind me every day that I’m not alone on this crazy path.

This got me teary. I am so thankful for your thankful-ness. I have so much to be thankful for, too.
