To say I’m obsessed with drinking water would be an understatement. At all times, I carry a bottle of water with me. And if gawd forbid I forget to grab water before I leave the house, you’d think I was stranded in the middle of the desert. Faster than you can say oasis, my mouth dries up like it’s full of cotton, my heart beats faster and I have. to. get. water. stat.
With as much water as I consume, I’ve tried very hard to break my bottled spring water habit. I know the plastic water bottles I drink out of are bad for the environment and that I should be drinking out of BPA-free bottles instead. But I’ve always been discouraged by how hard water bottles are to clean. I am reluctant to put a lot of soap in them for fear I won’t get it all out. And I feel the dishwasher gets them clean, but doesn’t get them fully dry- another thing I worry about. So I often gravitate back toward the bottled water because, well, it’s easier.
But in my defense, I just took a sip from my water bottle and on the back it reads, smaller cap=less plastic. And it’s followed by the words, be green. That’s something, right? Although I know it’s not good enough…
So I was excited to discover a reusable water bottle that’s easy to clean! Aptly called Clean Bottle, it has a leakproof bottom that screws off for easy washing and drying! FINE-UH-LEE! And even better, the container is BPA-free and 10% of the profits go to green organizations. That makes me feel a lot better.
So now, in front of all of you, I am vowing to go water bottle free. I’ll let you know how it goes… and pray that after I purchase the Clean Bottle, I don’t forget it at home.

I want one!!!!
Hmm … this sounds like the intervention – er, bottle – my family o’five is desperately in need of!! The kiddos need reusable water bottles for school, and the hubs & I need them because we are like you … always drinking (mostly water!)
Thanks for the info; I’ll have to check this out! Oh, and thanks for letting me know that at least one other person out there worries about all the same things that I do with regard to getting our reusable bottles truly clean AND dry (detest the mildewy smell & the thought of what icky germs lurk in those not-so-dry bottles!!) My friends often tell me I’m certifiable because I have concern about such things. =)
Jules- don’t worry, you’re not alone!
Stephanie- I’ll let you know how it works out, but I’m excited!
