The title alone makes you LOL so brace yourself for what’s inside the new book of home-made treasures by the hilarious and quirky Amy Sedaris.
Simple Times, crafts for poor people [$27.99] will get you through the holiday slump; you’ll have the most-talked-about gifts under the tree that cost little to no money!
Turn the pages and go back in time to crafts your Mom used to make. The book is filled to the brim with crazy (and some practical) ideas to basically make something out of any old thing lying around the house or in your kitchen cabinet- clothespins! matches! pennies! coffee filters! stuff I can’t mention in this post!
Possibly the best gift of all? The book alone. It will be a riot for the slightly irreverent and batty folks on your list. Awesome.
Are you making any gifts by hand this year? What’s your specialty?
Disclosure: I received a copy of Simple Times to keep and it sits on my coffee table and makes me laugh every day.

I love the looks of this book! My kids and I spent hours playing with buttons again this AM. Maybe I should put them into use with a “poor persons” wreath! Right now I am using my favorite old buttons as centers on felt flowers for yarn wreaths. I dare say that’s also a gift idea worthy of this book. Thanks for sharing Steph!
I make a little bit of everything. A giveaway you did inspired my latest big project. If it works out I will have to share it with you!
