Everyone jokes about it- so many of us admit to being addicted to Facebook and checking email. But, the truth is, it is a real problem that continues to grow as our lives are “lived” more increasingly online.
Constantly checking Facebook and email can get in the way of real-life. Quickrr has launched two Google Chrome browser extensions aimed at curbing troublesome Internet habits. Quickrr Facebook Rehab allows users to control their Facebook time, featuring “curfew hours” that restrict Facebook use during certain hours, ensuring that some hours will be spent Facebook-free.
For email addicts, Quickrr Email Rehab curbs checking email incessantly by permitting users to check email only at specific time intervals starting at just once every 15 minutes up to a 45-minute stretch.
Facebook Rehab and Email Rehab are free to download. You can take the quick 8-question test at www.quickrr.com to see if rehab is for you.
(I took the test and probably need to be checked into a real rehab with four walls…)
How do you manage your online time with Facebook and email?
