I don’t know where my potholders end up – well, I do know that one ended up melded to a pan I burned the heck out of, and the others are probably in a forgotten laundry pile in the basement. So for now I use a Halloween oven mitt (huge monster paw) and thin dish towels. Ouch.
Anyway, today as I baked dinner I decided I am getting new potholders, darn it. I deserve it. And so does my kitchen.
I can’t decide if I should knit up some on my own or buy cute ones online. Here’s a few lovelies I’ve found:
- Red Stitch on etsy has some super fun styles including fried eggs [$24].
- Drool-worthy at Anthropologie: any and all of them, especially the Sew
ing Basket set sure to freshen up any kitchen. [$12+ each].
- Crate & Barrel is rocking the color with the Tudor Aqua Potholder [$7.95].
- Or, never mind I’ve fallen in love with Marimekko Unikko mitts [$13]. HELLO COLOR!

When is the last time your cooked a big dinner in a nice dress and heels? I certainly can’t remember. Now potholders I can relate to – I have lots but really only use the ones that will keep me from getting burned, even if they are pretty grungy.
