It took me a while to catch on to the new put-a-belt-on-it fashion craze. Belts, of all sizes, with every outfit. I treaded the waters carefully and made a modest purchase of a big braided brown belt at Target. Thus began my addiction.
The empire waist frocks I have long embraced since birthing my last child? GONE with one fell snap of a belt. I am a new woman, with waistline. It’s amazing how slimming the “illusion” of a waist can be.
I’ve since procured belts for every occasion, every color, every fabric to be sure I am well-accessorized. From Gap to Banana Republic to Target. Yesterday I found the ultimate super-wide perfect color gray cinch, and I may never take it off.
Who knows how long this trend will hang around our hips? No matter- it’s made me feel a whole lot better about my transitioning mom body than I have in a long time. Thanks, belts.
What about you? Are you belting it out loud?

I love big belts, I still have mine from the good old days! Very retro. Now I’m trying to find big belts for my 10 yr old DD, she’s in love with them too.
I need a big belt to offset my wiiiiide hips, but I’m not sure where to buy them. Is there one store that always hits it out of the park?
Love! I have also embraced the belt. Skinnies over cardigans, wide over dresses, the options are endless.
xoxo e.
I’ve been eye-ing the belt trend. I have a few skinnies from my college days, but absolutely zero wide belts.
I am LOVING the belted dress look. My Easter dress was a darling black cap sleeve, full skirt dress with a wide belt at my natural waist. I felt AMAZING.
Okay, your enthusiasm is contagious. Gonna do some shopping.
I’m scared of belts. Maybe I need to do some in-depth therapy on this fear. I worry that I’ll end up squished out all over…or the belt will disappear in my mommy-ness. Ugh…I need some chocolate just thinking about belts.
Confession! I do not own a SINGLE belt. I really need to work on this.
i love the belt trend but only have a couple. i have always been a SEE HERE IS MY WAIST fan, when it comes to close. i also love the group of people commenting on this. for real. if i was hanging out with this group in person right now i’d be smiling so big.
I’ve really been trying to give it a go, and though my waist is a little too fluffy for my liking at the moment, I’m happy to do the empire waist thing with a few of my flowy-er frocks
