Don’t you hate the feeling that you love your hairstylist like a BFF? I mean, you get sooo close to her; she tells you gossip about her clients, you tell her about what’s going on in your life. Like everything that’s personal. You have a standing date every four-to-six weeks. It’s practically a RELATIONSHIP right? So how come sometimes you feel like you need a change?
That’s how I’m feeling now. I mean, I love her. I really do. Everything about her is great. She does awesome color, my cut is always perfect, and my scalp tingles after my condition. And can she give a neck and shoulder massage! I love how I feel after I leave her. But … something’s missing, something’s not right.
Do I need something more?
How can I tell if it’s time to break up with my stylist? Sometimes I wish we lived in a world where we could hop from one stylist to another every single month, and get a new cut and color every single time? What would that be like? But what if we fell in love with one cut and color? And went back to that one? Then we’d be stuck. Like I am now. And so, the vicious cycle continues.
And want to know what else adds to my dilemma of whether I should break up with my stylist or not?
My husband sees her too! And what’s worse? He goes to her every three to four weeks!
I’m stuck! But that’s OK, because I love her too.
Post Script …
I just got my hair cut and colored right after I wrote this, and I’m not going ANYWHERE … I do LOVE her, all I needed was a color change!
