How Kids Can Help With Thanksgiving Dinner

When it comes to Thanksgiving dinner, there are many ways that even the littlest ones can help out. Most kids love helping with grocery shopping, preparing and cooking meals.

Mashing potatoes
Put the cooked potatoes, milk, butter and seasonings in a bowl and let your child be in charge of the mashing. Mashing potatoes with a hand masher is much more fun than just watching an electric mixer do all the work.

Snapping beans
Have your kids race to see who can snap the most green beans. You can also have little ones tear lettuce and toss a salad. They’ll be more apt to eat healthy foods if they take part in preparing them.

Roll the crust
If you are making homemade pie for dessert, your kids can help by rolling out the pie crust. Get nonstick rolling pins and show them how to do get started. The pie crusts might not come out perfectly, but they’ll be rolled with love.
