So, this Shake Weight Challenge, it’s not going so well. I think our goal was to shake it a total of 30 minutes a week, broken down into six minutes a day for five days a week. I glanced at it in the corner of my office on Wednesday and made an audible sound, something that went like, “OH!” And then I cringed.
Yep, the Shake Weight Challenge had fallen on the list of priorities, down to probably number 134. Down below Grocery Shopping, Change The Toilet Paper Roll, and Fill Out Field Trip Forms.
FAIL.
But you know what I DID manage to do this week? Yep, let’s talk about the positives, shall we? I DID go on a five-mile hike Sunday. And I DID go to two yoga classes.
Sure, I get that that’s not exactly completing the requirements of my Shake Weight Challenge, but that is getting up and doing something positive for my body. Right? Right. Please tell me I’m doing something good?
And I promise, as soon as I hit PUBLISH to this post, I’m picking up that Shake Weight and shaking for six minutes to get started on my goals for next week. I PROMISE!
Because I am more than sure that Dawn did her five times this week, and not only is she a Real Moms Blogger too, AND a Mom of three children just like I am, she ALSO has a full-time job to boot. So, there’s that. My excuses don’t count.
Dawn? How’d you do this week? Shakin’ it baby?
Cuz the only thing I’m shakin’ is the flab under my arms.

As you can see once you read my post today, I’ve had similar issues this week, don’t worry! It’s been a tough week for my teaching job and my writing responsibilities, and my usual level of aversion to physical activity is even bigger! Next week, next week!!
So did you shake it, baby, shake it after you published?!
And yes, yoga and hiking count for a lot!! You can do it!
