Spring is here! Slough off the winter skin feeling by treating yourself to a new body lotion. Instead of picking something up at the drug store, shop online for a handmade, natural alternative. I’ve found a wider variety of aromas when I shop handmade, which is great for me since I get pretty sick of the same old coconut or almond scents in major brand lotions.
If your skin needs some TLC, try an organic lotion infused with healing herbs like calendula. Goats milk lotion is a nourishing alternative. Shops like Heart J Creations offer tons of different scents. Just be aware of the difference between perfume scents and essential oil scents. Most people are fine with a light perfume scent like a fruit scent, but if you’re sensitive or allergic, stick to unscented products or products scented lightly with gentle oils like lavender or chamomile.
You can also find some great, thick body butters and balms. These are especially great for your hands if you’re still healing from dry, cracked winter skin. I like finding balms infused with arnica oil and trauma oil to get a little additional healing power with the moisture.
My favorite lotion scent, by far, is gardenia, but it’s pretty hard to find lotion scented naturally with gardenia. What are your favorite lotion aromas?
