Memorial Weekend is already over, but hopefully you had fun and also took a moment of silence to give thanks to those who serve our country. And now that summer is pretty much officially here, I’m devoting this Weekly Musts post to some of the most buzzed about movies you should see during June, July and August. From Men in Black to Ted, here’s a list of my summer movie musts!
Men in Black 3 (in theaters now)
Out with Tommy Lee Jones (well sort of- he’s still in it, but not the star) in with Josh Brolin. And don’t worry, Will Smith is still very much in the mix. In this installment of the series, (the last one was 10 years ago! What?) the movie goes back in time to 1969. EW gives it an A- (and they aren’t generous with their letter grades) so I’m in!
Ted (July 13)
From the creator of Family Guy (Seth MacFarlane) comes this buddy comedy- with quite a twist. Mark Wahlberg stars as the BFF of an ill-behaved teddy bear with quite a mouth on him (voiced by MacFarlane). Can’t wait! Warning: NOT for kids- it has a “R” rating.
The Queen of Versailles (July 20)
I love documentaries and this one sounds juicy! The filmmaker, Lauren Greenfield, originally set out to document billionaire David Diegel and his wife, Jackie, as they built the biggest house in America. But then the economy tanked…
Celeste and Jesse Forever (August 3)
I love Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg, so I’m going to see this moviea bout a high school sweethearts who get divorced (co-written by Jones) no matter what. (Did you see them in I Love You, Man?)
The Bourne Legacy (August 3rd)
Tommy Lee Jones I can live without him having as much screen time in Men in Black (even though, again, I love him) but Bourne without Matt Damon at all? I’m leary, but still going to buy a ticket because, technically it’s a “spin-off” from Matt Damon’s series and secondly, because Jeremy Renner stars. (Did you see him in the last Mission Impossible? The Avengers? He’s hot and he’s hot, if you know what I’m sayin’!)
What movies are you excited to see this summer?

OK, LISA… I had NOT seen the Ted trailer… NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
