Holiday gifts: Scooters and bikes

Kids of all ages love scooters and bicycles. If you are considering getting your kids a new ride this Christmas, consider one of these cool choices.

Radio Flyer Shockwave

Radio Flyer makes more than little red wagons. The company also makes scooters. The Radio Flyer Shockwave (Radio Flyer, $40) for kids ages 5 and up features Flexdeck technology for big jumps and a really fun ride. This scooter is durable and versatile with adjustable handle bars for various heights. It also features a wide-contoured deck and foot brake for greater control.

Razor Flash Rider 360

The traditional tricycle just got a whole lot cooler. Based on Razor’s award-winning caster trike, the Razor Flash Rider 360 (Walmart, $77) features a Spark Bar, so young kids can spin and spark, just like the big boys. Geared toward kids ages 6 and up, this ride has MX-style handlebars for a safe and sure grip.

Kickbike

Keep your whole family active and have fun together with Kickbikes. The Kickbike (pictured above) is a scooter and a bike in one. With eight different models to choose from, there’s a Kickbike that’s perfect for everyone in the family. The lower center of gravity and cool design makes the Kickbike very unique to look at and to ride. Kids love them and they are so much fun for adults too. The ride is super smooth plus it’s great exercise. Additionally, there are no greasy parts or protruding pedals which have a tendency to snag your clothing, which means you do not have to protect your clothes or wear extra/special gear.

Recently, our family had the opportunity to try out the Kickbike, and I can’t say enough good things about it. If you have been debating whether to get your kids a bike or a scooter — get both in one ride with the Kickbike.

The Freeride Junior (Kickbike America, $259) is targeted at kids ages 5 and up, while adults have several models to choose from including the popular Sports Classic ($299) and extra tough Cross Max ($479). Visit KickbikeAmerica.com to learn more about all the Kickbike models and find out where to shop for one near you.
